Out and About

Overlooking the stunning Carbis Bay (in the top 20 most beautiful bays in the world) and a short walk from the historic artist haven of St Ives, you’re free to do as much or as little as you like on your holiday!

For beach lovers, the crystal turquoise waters and white sands of Carbis Bay beach are a three minute walk down the hill from your accommodation. This picturesque beach has recently been voted into the top twenty most beautiful bays in the world - one of only two beaches in England to receive such a prestigious title.

The famous harbour village of St Ives is a twenty minute walk along a breathtaking cliff path from your accommodation, or you can take the train from Carbis Bay train station (1 minute walk away). Once there we suggest you visiting one of the famous galleries such as The Hepworth Museum or The Tate St Ives. Alternatively take a stroll amongst the whitewashed fishermen’s cottages and soak-in the local charm, or visit one of the many cafés, bars and award winning local restaurants.

Activities are also available for the whole family. A spectacular Links golf course is situated at nearby Lelant, just a 10 minute drive. Alternatively if it’s surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing or any other adrenalin sports, then Gwithian beach (15 minute drive away) is where you will find the best surf as well as 7 miles of beach to choose from should some other members of the family rather relax and sit in the sun!!!

Further afield, Why not visit the historic fishing village of Padstow. If you want to visit Rick Stein’s fish restaurant we suggest booking well in advance! Thankfully he has now also opened a fish and chip shop that serves up delicious locally caught seafood.

For garden lovers, there is a plethora of world famous gardens to visit including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trebah Gardens & Trelissick Gardens. Alternatively, if you want something for all the family then a trip to The Eden Project is a must.

If you want a real action packed day out, we recommend getting the quick helicopter ride from Penzance over to the unforgettable Isles of Scilly where you can visit some of the most breathtaking islands in the British Isles as well as take in the wildlife including dolphins, seals and puffins to name but a few.

Whatever you chose to do on your break, we are certain you will want to return to Hawke’s Point again and again.
